JavaFX 8 is bundled with JDK 8 for Windows, Mac and Linux. Unlike previous versions of NetBeans IDE, NetBeans IDE 8.2 does not require that you set up an 'FX-enabled' Java platform in order to utilize JavaFX support in the IDE. You can develop JavaFX projects in the IDE if you install JDK 8. JDK 8u111 with NetBeans 8.2 This distribution of the JDK includes the Java SE bundle of NetBeans IDE, which is a powerful integrated development environment for developing applications on the Java platform.
The Netbeans installer is the 'All' package weighing in at 243 MB (netbeans-8.0.2-macosx.dmg. The installer zips through everything and then gets stuck on 'Running Package Scripts. Install time remaining: Less than a minute'. See attached screenshot. I've read on a blog that downloading the Netbeans + JDK bundle from Oracle sorts out the issue.
- Deadline: before 4:00 PM on 16th of October, 2017 (CEST)

- Issues: report new bug, already reported bugs

- If needed upgrade to distribution you need (PHP, Java EE, ...)
- Create a new project from the area you are responsible for or open some of your already existing projects.

Hey, everyone, I hope you all are doing great so today I will show you How to Install Netbeans IDE 8.0.2 on Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS. NetBeans is an open-source IDE(Integrated Development Environment) for Java.
Installing any software on Windows or Mac is pretty straight forward but when things come to Linux you have to take certain steps to ensure that the installation is a success.
You can develop many applications in Java and it also has an extension for other languages like PHP, C, C++, HTML 5, and JavaScript. It can be run on Windows, Linux, Mac OS, and Solaris.
Netbeans IDE
The IDE has many extensive features and provides a much wide range of tools, templates, and samples. As it uses most of the plugins that are developed by the community it makes NetBeans is very extensible which makes it well suited for software development.

System Requirements:
- Computer with at least 2GB of RAM.
- Java SE Development Kit 8 does not work with the higher version of JDK.
So, first of all, you have to download the setup for NetBeans 8.0.2 from here.
When downloading from the above link don’t forget to change the platform option to Linux(x86/x64) from the drop-down menu like this.
After downloading the setup you have to install the JDK (Java Development Kit) package. The JDK allows developers to create Java programs that can be executed and run by the JVM (Java Virtual Machine) and JRE (Java Runtime Environment). When you download your JDK, you will need to select the version of Java you want to use.
Now if you try to install NetBeans 8.0.2 with the latest version JDK 11 it will give you an error like this,
“JAVA SE was not found on this computer. Make sure JDK is properly installed and run the installer again. You can specify a valid JDK location using –javahome installer argument.”
Installing Java JDK 8:
So, in this case, the user can use both OpenJDK or Oracle Java JDK we will cover both methods so if you face some issues with OpenJDK you also have the other option.
- First, you need to add the following repository in your package database you can do so by running the following command.
2. After you are finished updating your packages database you can run the following command to install the Oracle JDK.
If you are rocking multiple installs of Java JDK you can also install this package to make JDK 8 to be the default.
Note: This repository contains both newer and older versions of Java JDK.
NetBeans 8.0.2 requires JDK 8, and it will not work with any other version of Java greater than 8. The package contains just the Java Runtime Environment. If you want to develop Java programs then install the openjdk-8-jdk
package and package and here is how you can install it.
Type this in the terminal,
sudo apt-get install openjdk-8-jdk
Type ‘ y
‘ and it will complete the rest of the installation.
Now that Java is installed in our system we have to install net-beans. Now when you download net-beans its file will be saved with .sh
extension.
A shell is software that provides an interface for an operating system’s users to provide access to the kernel’s services.
A shell script is a text file that contains a sequence of commands for a Unix-based operating system. Files with .sh extension are called a shell script.

The first thing that you will have to do is make the Bash script executable as it does not have execution permission by default to do that run this command while being in the Download directory.
Or if you don’t want to give execution permission to the file you can run it like this.
Jdk Netbeans 8 Download
Now to execute this file you have to type this in terminal
Jdk For Netbeans 12
./netbeans-8.0.2-linux.sh
